Luke Shannon, PhD is an automotive engineer, ASE-certified technician, researcher, and repeat founder based in Greenville, South Carolina. His path spans performance shops, professional motorsports, geophysics, Fortune 500 consulting, automotive media, smart manufacturing, and artificial intelligence. He is now building LemonFreeAuto, an AI-enabled mobile pre-purchase inspection company, and StudentStartups.ai, a platform helping students become founders.

EXTENDED BIOGRAPHY

Luke Shannon, PhD has learned complex systems from more than one side since beginning Universal Technical Institute in 1999. After graduating in 2000, he opened Never Enough Racing and operated the performance shop through 2004 while transitioning to UC Santa Barbara. He worked in professional off-road motorsports, later earned degrees from UC Santa Barbara and Colorado School of Mines, built a career in technical consulting, and created SubaruONLY as an automotive media platform, performance and tuning shop, and licensed used-car dealership. At Clemson University, his Automotive Engineering doctoral research applied hybrid modeling, machine learning, and physical knowledge to plastics and composites manufacturing. In 2026, LemonFreeAuto placed second in Clemson’s Spark Challenge. Today, Luke is building LemonFreeAuto, which combines AI guidance with ASE-certified mobile inspections, and StudentStartups.ai, which gives high school, trade-school, and college students practical founder infrastructure. He is based in Greenville, South Carolina and works at the intersection of automotive intelligence, AI, education, and entrepreneurship.
